On January 16, 2024, Earthquake Safety Day (ESD) was organized ESD National Committee, under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of Nepal, under the theme "Let’s promote local materials and technologies for earthquake-resilient structures."
On January 2, 2024, NDRRMA under the coordination of DPNet Nepal organized a program to standardize the existing Relief Data Tracker Form. The event saw participation from various stakeholders, including representatives from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA), the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration (MoFAGA), the Association of International NGOs (AIN), UN agencies and various relevant organizations.
On December 28th, DPNet arranged a meeting with SWC's Member Secretary, Manoj Bhatta, with attendees such as DPNet Chair Surya Bahadur Thapa, Vice Chair Dr. Raju Thapa, Kedar Neuapne, DPNet Advisor and Former Secretary of the Government of Nepal, and Dipendra Prasad DC, Secretary of the NGO Federation.
On December 21, 2023, DPNet Nepal organized a meeting in Bardibas, Mahotari of Madhesh Province, to establish the DPNet Province Level Committee in Madhesh Province. The meeting, attended by DPNet members from Madhesh Province, was chaired by Mr. Surya Bahadur Thapa, the Chair of DPNet, with Mr. Harshaman Maharjan, Deputy General Secretary of DPNet Central Committee, attending as the guest for the program.
On December 17, 2023, DPNet Nepal supported by Mercy Corps Nepal, organized an online discussion on “Development Partners' Possible Contribution to Provincial DRR Initiatives” to discuss the probable areas of contribution and partnership of the development agencies in the provincial DRR initiatives.
On December 12, DPNet conducted the discussion program to review the existing relief data collection form. The session was facilitated by Dr. Raju Thapa and coordinated by the former Secretary, Mr. Kedar Neupane. This gathering is an important step in our ongoing project to develop consensus among government stakeholders for forming and implementing a standardized method for gathering information about relief materials, in line with the 5W approach.
