A Network of Networks Meeting was held in Kathmandu to strengthen coordination among civil society networks, platforms, federations, and organizations working in disaster risk reduction, humanitarian response, climate resilience, localization, inclusion, and community preparedness in Nepal.
Speakers at the event emphasized the need for stronger disaster risk reduction, climate resilience, effective early warning systems, community-centred preparedness and multi-stakeholder collaboration to build a safer and more resilient Nepal.
The South Asia Policy Dialogue on “Building a Safer Future: Investing in Communities for Resilience” was successfully organized today at Hotel Shanker, Lazimpat, Kathmandu. The dialogue brought together senior government representatives, disaster risk reduction practitioners, civil society organizations, researchers, development partners, regional networks, and community resilience actors from across South Asia.
More than 30 representatives from NGOs, INGOs, academia, government institutions, and the technology community came together for a multi-stakeholder workshop on “Data, Technology and Disaster Response in Nepal,” aimed at exploring how data and innovation can strengthen disaster preparedness and response systems in Nepal.
DPNet participated in the Project NEAR Nepal / Nepal Localization Lab Review Meeting held at NSET Hindol Hall to discuss localization, civic space, and the sustainability of civil society organizations in Nepal.
The Swiss Consortium and DPNet jointly organized an interaction program titled “Streamlining ReCAP Project Outputs in Policy and Practice” at Burja Hall, Civil Engineering Department, Pulchowk Campus, bringing together national and international experts to strengthen collaboration on climate resilience and multi-hazard disaster risk reduction in Nepal.
