Stakeholders embarked on a field visit to Siranchok Rural Municipality in Gorkha District, Nepal
On April 12, 2021, stakeholders involved in the project titled "Low Cost Landslide Risk Management Measures Piloting at Siranchok Rural Municipality Gorkha," including Disaster Preparedness Network-Nepal (DPNet), Shree Swanra Integrated Community Development Center (SSICDC), and Care Nepal, conducted a field visit. The visit was attended by representatives from DPNet, government officials, Nepal Army, Nepal Police, journalists, Municipal Association of Nepal (MuAN), District Disaster Management Committee, Municipality Disaster Management Committee, National Disaster Risk Reduction & Management Authority (NDRRMA), National Association of Rural Municipalities of Nepal (NORMIN), SSICDC Gorkha, and other relevant stakeholders.
Interaction- "Low-cost technologies for ‘Landslide Risk Reduction"’
The interaction titled "Affordable Technologies for Landslide Risk Reduction" was jointly organized by Disaster Preparedness Network-Nepal (DPNet), Shree Swanra Integrated Community Development Center (SSICDC), and Care Nepal on 7th April 2021 at Indreni Foodland, Kathmandu. The program was chaired by Mr. Surya Bahadur Thapa, Chairperson of DPNet, and Dr. Raju Thapa, General Secretary of DPNet, welcomed the attendees and highlighted the program's objectives.
Webinar on "Real-time Flood and Landslide Monitoring and Innovations (Application of Remote Sensing and UAVs)"
DPNet-Nepal and Practical Action Consulting jointly organized a webinar on February 25, 2021, titled "Real-time Flood, Landslide Monitoring and Innovations (Application of Remote Sensing and UAVs)". The program commenced with Mr. Ram Prasad Bhattarai, Vice Chairperson of DPNet-Nepal, as the chairperson, and Dr. Raju Thapa, General Secretary of DPNet-Nepal, sharing the objectives of the webinar. A total of 85 participants attended the webinar.

The joint organization of DPNet-Nepal, DiMaNN, FECOFUN, FEDWASUN, NFIWUAN, Practical Action Consulting, and NSET held a webinar on January 21, 2021, titled "The Role of Civil Society Organizations in Ensuring Earthquake Safety during Complex Emergencies." The program was part of the nationwide events organized throughout the country to commemorate the 23rd Earthquake Safety Day.
Announcement of Essay Competition Results and Essay Presentation Program
The virtual event titled "Announcement of Essay Competition Results and Essay Presentation" was held on December 24, 2020, organized by DPNet-Nepal. The essay competition, centered around "Disaster Risk Governance" in Nepal, was organized by the National Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction (NPDRR) to commemorate IDDRR 2020. The competition welcomed participation from university students pursuing Bachelor's and Master's degrees. Mr. Surya Bahadur Thapa, Chairperson and Member Secretary of NPDRR, presided over the virtual program. Mr. Anil Pokhrel, Executive Chief of National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority and Chairperson of NPDRR, graced the event as the Chief Guest.
