This study assesses the potential of using the SSA system to respond to floods in the immediate future (taking a two-year timeframe). The study complements other ongoing work on the role of social protection in responding to emergencies in the country and forms part of a larger UNICEF project funded by the UK’s Department for International Development (DFID) aimed at generating new policy-relevant evidence to strengthen the preparedness of Nepal’s SSA schemes for disaster response.
