The Disaster Management Course is a judicious mix of theory and practical and employs a number of tools from lectures to field visits and facilitators including government officials as well as development partners to bring diverse knowledge. The Course overall tries to give an overview of Disaster Management in the context of Myanmar and provides practical guidance on the application of Disaster Management knowledge and skills for risk reduction and management.
The Disaster Management Course has five modules namely Module 1: Introduction to Disaster Risk Management; Module 2: Understanding Risks and Natural Hazards of Myanmar; Module 3: DRM Approaches: Preparedness, Response and Recovery; Module 4: Disaster Resilience and Safer Development; and Module 5: Cross-Cutting Issues in Disaster Risk Management.
