Summary
This is the revised edition of the comprehensive Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Act that the Government of Nepal officially approved in 2017. The Act underwent amendments in 2019. This act was formulated in accordance with Article 296 of Section 1 of the Constitution of Nepal. Serving as a crucial legal framework, the DRRM Act directs the entire disaster management cycle within the nation. Notably, this Act replaces and substitutes the Natural Calamity Relief Act of 1982.
