This quarterly report highlights DPNet Nepal’s key engagements from January to February 2025, emphasizing disaster risk reduction (DRR), human security, and institutional preparedness. From January 14–15, DPNet participated in a regional workshop in Bangkok on integrating human security into development, where Nepal’s community-based disaster recovery efforts were presented. On National Earthquake Safety Day, DPNet joined commemorative events led by the Prime Minister, facilitating stakeholder coordination and public awareness through an information stall. A virtual preparatory meeting on February 9 set the groundwork for Nepal’s participation in the Global Platform for DRR 2025, focusing on strategic representation and the Sasakawa Award nomination. From February 14–15, a residential discussion in Sankhu finalized the 2025–2030 Strategic Plan of Action, emphasizing policy advocacy, capacity building, and localization. A workshop in collaboration with the Institute of Himalayan Risk Reduction reviewed and enhanced the Training of Trainers (ToT) Manual for Humanitarian Response Management. Finally, on February 25, DPNet contributed to a National Platform for DRR meeting focused on thematic group revitalization and knowledge sharing ahead of GPDRR 2025. These activities affirm DPNet’s leadership in promoting inclusive, community-driven, and risk-informed development across Nepal.
