This quarterly report highlights DPNet Nepal’s key engagements from November to December 2024, focusing on strengthening disaster risk reduction (DRR), institutional capacity, and climate resilience. Major events included the 16th General Assembly and Monsoon Review on November 22, where stakeholders discussed monsoon preparedness, financial challenges, and the need for improved DRR coordination. On November 24, DPNet and the Social Protection Civil Society Network (SPCSN) submitted recommendations on the Shock Responsive Social Protection (SRSP) Standards 2081 to NDRRMA, emphasizing governance clarity and inclusivity. A discussion on December 2 addressed NDRRMA’s institutional challenges, highlighting the need for leadership reforms, legal revisions, and financial mobilization. In commemoration of International Human Rights Day, DPNet organized a national dialogue on December 14 on accessing the Loss and Damage Fund, advocating for increased grant-based funding and regional cooperation. From December 10–12, DPNet participated in the Regional Humanitarian Partnership Week in Bangkok, sharing Nepal’s experiences in DRR, GEDSI integration, and post-earthquake recovery. The 3rd National Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction (NCDRR) on December 26–27 gathered over 300 stakeholders to discuss risk mapping, sustainable housing, and policy recommendations for DRR, with the Home Minister pledging continued government collaboration through a dedicated monthly dialogue program. These engagements highlight DPNet’s commitment to policy advocacy, disaster preparedness, and fostering inclusive resilience in Nepal.
