This is the Disaster Preparedness and Response Plan for Ramechhap district for the fiscal year 2020/21. It illustrates that the district faces significant risks from various disasters, including floods, landslides, earthquakes, and pandemics. The 2015 earthquake severely impacted the area, leading to ongoing recovery and reconstruction efforts. More recently, the COVID-19 pandemic has affected the district, with 25 confirmed cases and ongoing isolation measures. Despite the negative economic and social impacts of lockdowns, there is strong support for controlling the virus. To address these challenges, the DPRP has been updated, including a special plan for COVID-19. Effective disaster management requires the cooperation of local authorities, government agencies, NGOs, and the community. The action plan emphasized that the District Disaster Management Committee and other stakeholders are crucial in implementing these plans to enhance disaster preparedness and minimize losses.
