Consolidated Emergency Report 2022

Summary

This document is a comprehensive report on UNICEF Nepal's humanitarian response activities in 2022. It details their efforts to tackle the challenges posed by COVID-19, natural disasters, and disease outbreaks. Despite a significant decrease in COVID-19 cases compared to 2021, Nepal faced severe humanitarian needs due to monsoon flooding, landslides, an earthquake in Doti District, and outbreaks of cholera and dengue. UNICEF provided life-saving support in WASH, child protection, health, and education, reaching over 61,000 people, including 22,000 children, across 23 districts. While funding gaps affected some responses, thematic funding enabled UNICEF to offer essential services to vulnerable populations. The report highlights the need for ongoing collaboration to achieve sustainable development and ensure no child is left behind.
