Summary

This is the action plan for the air quality management for the Kathmandu Metropolitan City. Pollution control and sustainable development are given priority by the Nepalese Constitution's legal frameworks and programs such as the National Policy, 2076. In an effort to improve the region's environmental and public health, an air quality management action plan is being implemented to monitor and reduce pollutants from industries, transportation, and other sources. The plan emphasized the aim to prevent and control air pollution and ensure citizens' right to a healthy atmosphere for good health and well-being, the objective is to minimize pollution from vehicles and industries, promote environmentally friendly waste management, maintain good air quality, reduce household emissions, raise awareness about pollution impacts, manage air pollution during emergencies, and allocate economic resources to develop policies, plans, and institutional structures for minimizing air pollution.
