Ecosystem restoration reduces community vulnerability to water-induced disasters: Need to rethink Chure conservation in Nepal

Summary

This study assessed perceptions of ecosystem services in Central Nepal, a region vulnerable to erosion and floods. It found that despite a lack of knowledge, ecosystem-based adaptation has the potential to lower household vulnerability in this particular region. The study emphasizes the need for better project design and implementation to maximize benefits, suggesting that incorporating ecosystem-based adaptation principles into restoration initiatives could increase community resilience against disasters.
