Summary

The Act has been established by the Provincial Assembly under Article 197 of the Constitution of Nepal to promote environmental protection. The Act aims to reduce adverse effects on humans, animals, plants, nature, the atmosphere, and physical objects caused by environmental imbalances and degradation. It seeks to ensure the right of all living beings to a clean and healthy environment and to ensure the proper use of natural resources. The necessity of legal arrangements for effective environmental management and protection was also  emphasized.
