Nepal's National Adaptation Plan (NAP) addresses climate change impacts and builds resilience through long-term strategic goals to 2050, medium-term priorities to 2040, and short-term actions to 2030. Informed by the National Climate Change Policy, the NAP aims to integrate adaptation into all levels of planning and activities. It aligns with the Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) and serves as Nepal's Adaptation Communication under the Paris Agreement. With 64 priority programs across nine sectors, the NAP requires USD 47.4 billion for implementation, with USD 2.1 billion needed annually. Implementation oversight lies with the Environmental Protection and Climate Change Management National Council, Inter-Ministerial Climate Change Coordination Committee, and thematic working groups. The Ministry of Forests and Environment coordinates implementation in collaboration with various stakeholders. Regular reviews ensure alignment with changing contexts, policies, and climate risks.
