Summary

The Sudurpaschim Province Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Bill, 2055, has been enacted by the Provincial Assembly to address disaster management activities comprehensively. Recognizing the importance of pre-preparation, victim rescue, relief distribution, rehabilitation, and recovery from natural and non-natural disasters, the legislation aims to protect public and private property, natural and cultural heritage, and physical structures in a coordinated and effective manner. This Act is in accordance with Article 197 of the Constitution of Nepal, demonstrating the province's commitment to disaster risk reduction and management.
