Summary

This is a Nepali-translated version of the Sendai Framework for DRR. The Sendai Framework is the outcome of stakeholder consultations initiated in March 2012 and inter-governmental negotiations from July 2014 to March 2015, supported by the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction at the request of the UN General Assembly, which was adopted at the third UN world conference in Sendai, Japan on March 18, 2015.

The SFDRR recognizes the interconnectedness of disaster risk reduction, sustainable development, and climate change adaptation. It aligns with the broader global development agenda, including the SDGs and the Paris Agreement on climate change. It provides a strategic roadmap for nations and communities to reduce disaster risk, minimize the impact of disasters, and foster sustainable development.
