Summary

With the analysis of case studies from the communities, this policy brief provides information about the impacts of earthquakes on the education sector, a brief on safe school policies and practices, and the gaps in the existing policies and practices along a way forward for improvement. The way forward includes recommendations broadly categorized into four levels; federal and provincial government, local government (rural and urban municipalities), non-government organizations, and educational networks/ private sectors.
