Summary

This presentation on “Commitments and Recommendations from the Different Policy Dialogues on DRRM” was prepared and shared by Mr. Bamshi Kumar Acharya during a National Dialogue on Disaster Management Policies. The presentation incorporates the information on the key commitments and recommendations proposed on policy dialogues regarding Psychosocial counseling in disaster, efficiency of EWS in DRRM, Private sector investment in disaster, good governance for RRM across the three tiers of government, Market system resilience for DRR, Disaster Risk Transfer and Financing for enhanced DRR, non-government engagement for DRRM along with the key issues in provisional, institutional, operational, and behavioral levels in disaster management. Furthermore, the presentation attempts to give a way forward in formulating policy provisions, mobilization of funds and human resources, coordination of concerned stakeholders, monitoring and evaluation along with delineation of powers between the government for enhanced disaster risk reduction and management.
