This Gender Equality and Social Inclusion Operational Guidelines 2017 provides guidance on the implementation of gender equality and social inclusion in all aspects of Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport (MoPIT) policies, institutions, and program/project implementation processes in an integrated manner. The document attempts to ensure that a gender and social inclusion responsive approach was adopted and monitored in MoPIT to improve the access of women, the poor, and the excluded to resources, opportunities, and benefits from the programs/projects and services of the Ministry and that GESI issues were addressed both in programs and in institutions.
This document gives details on the Institutional Arrangement for GESI Implementation and guidelines for Mainstreaming GESI in the Strategic Roads sector, Railways, and transport management sector with the monitoring aspects.
