Effectiveness of Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Initiatives (विपद् जोखिम न्यूनीकरण र व्यवस्थानको प्रभावकारिता)
Summary
This presentation on DRR Initiatives and their effectiveness was prepared and presented by Mr. Rudra Singh Tamang during the Second National Disaster Risk Reduction Conference (NCDRR) organized by MoHa in partnership with USAID Tayar Nepal and DPNet Nepal on 29-30 June 2023.
His presentation focused mainly on the causal factors of disaster in Nepal, legal frameworks and guidelines for DRRM, organizational structure for DRRM, the inter-relationship between the concerned bodies, the major responsibilities of three levels of government, coordination on the operation of the Emergency Operation Center, brief on the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Strategic Plan of Action 2018-2030, equipments that were handed over to different concerned agencies for disaster preparedness and response, ongiong trainings on DRRM, challenges and way forward to mitigate and address those challenges as a whole.
