Summary

This District Disaster Preparedness and Response Plan, 2016 is an updated vulnerability assessment of Kapilvastu district that incorporates components of Minimum Initial Service Package (MISP) for reproductive health in emergencies. This district disaster preparedness and response plan for Kapilvastu district was prepared and published by the district disaster management committee, Kapilvastu. It incorporates the aim and the goals of the plan, the roles of the concerned sectoral agencies, and the way forward. The goal of this plan is to achieve the following objectives: identify the roles and priorities of subject areas concerning disaster response, determine the key responsibilities and support agencies involved in disaster response, conduct accounting for disasters, risk mapping, data collection, and analysis of past disaster events develop a risk-informed plan that incorporates general preparedness, forecast-based preparedness, and emergency response activities for disasters; assess available resources and manpower for disaster response and potential disaster situations; evaluate, forecast, and manage vulnerability to address and mitigate potential risks.
