Summary

The primary purpose of this document is to provide an analysis and design methodology for use in the seismic evaluation and retrofit of the existing masonry buildings in Nepal. This document will be used by retrofit design professionals for performing seismic evaluations and retrofit designs. It aims to reduce the vulnerability of buildings thereby decreasing the likelihood of risk to the loss of life and injury to the inhabitants of the buildings.
