The Seminar on “Implementation Challenges to Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Policies and way forward” was organized by Association for Rural Social Welfare (ARSOW), DiMaNN, DPNet Nepal and NGO Federation on 9th Nov, 2021 on The Everest Hotel, Banesowr. The program was organized under the chairmanship of Mr. Jit Ram Lama, President of NGO federation of Nepal.
Orientation and consultation about the Province level platform for DRR, SudurPaschim Province
The Province level DRR Platform Orientation cum Consultation meeting was organized in Rubus Hotel, Dhangadhi on November 1 and 2, 2021. The opening remark was given by Ms. Santona Devkota K.C., DPnet staff. She shared about the formation and history of DRR Platform. The program was chaired by Mr. Surya Bahadur Thapa, Chairperson of DPNet. He highlighted the importance of coordination and collaboration of stakeholders on disaster management.
Orientation about the Local Level Disaster Risk Reduction Platform
The orientation about the Local Level Disaster Risk Reduction Platform was organized by DPNet in Godawari Municipality, Kailali on Nov 2, 2021. The Chief Guest of the program was Ms. Ratna Kadayat, Deputy Mayor of Godawari Municipality. The program was chaired by Deputy Mayor. The Guests of the program were Mr. Surya Bahadur Thapa, Chairperson of DPNet, Mr. Basanta Kumar Khatri, Under Secretary, Mr. Shivaraj Joshi, Officer, Mr. Marshal Khadka, nayab subba. DRR Focal person of Godawari Municipality, Kailali facilitated the program.
Sphere Standard Training to Humanitarian Practitioners and Local Level Representatives
The three days Sphere Standard training on Sudurpaschim Province was organized by DPNet-Nepal under Chhemata Avibridhhi(Capacity enhancement for DRR&M project) with the support of USAID, Tayar- Nepal to capacitate the local level governments and humanitarian Practitioners in localizing and maintaining the minimum humanitarian standard.
