10 April 2026, Kathmandu, Nepal: Disaster Preparedness Network Nepal (DPNet Nepal) has announced the celebration of its 30th Anniversary on June 8, 2026 (25th Jestha 2083), marking three decades of contribution to disaster preparedness, resilience building, and collaborative action in Nepal.
On the occasion, DPNet Nepal is organizing a series of pre-events, thematic policy dialogues, and a National Anniversary Event, while inviting government agencies, development partners, NGOs, academic institutions, private sector organizations, and humanitarian stakeholders to collaborate in the celebration.
The anniversary aims to highlight the importance of partnership and collective action in strengthening disaster resilience and preparedness across the country. As part of the celebration, several thematic activities and discussions are planned, including policy dialogues. The organization also plans to host a roundtable discussion, NPDRR meeting, and additional partner-led events proposed by collaborating organizations.
The celebration will also feature a number of special publications, including a “Members Corner,” “30 Stories of Resilience,” and a commemorative “Smarika” publication documenting key milestones and experiences in Nepal’s disaster risk reduction journey.
The main National Anniversary Event will include the launch of the DPNet Member Profile, unveiling of the “30 Stories of Resilience,” release of the DPNet Smarika, and the introduction of the DPNet Strategic Plan 2026–2030. The event will also host a high-level panel discussion and a marketplace for showcasing innovations, initiatives, and demonstrations related to disaster preparedness and resilience.
DPNet Nepal stated that collaboration opportunities are open in areas such as technical support, knowledge sharing, co-hosting thematic sessions, and showcasing innovative practices and solutions. Interested organizations have been requested to express their interest in collaboration through a shared online platform by April 30, 2026.
The organization expressed appreciation to its partners and stakeholders for their continued support and emphasized that the anniversary celebration would serve as an important platform for strengthening partnerships and advancing disaster resilience efforts in Nepal.
