The Humanitarian Country Team (HCT) in Nepal, in alignment with the IASC Policy Statement on Gender Equality in Humanitarian Action, has endorsed key advocacy messages to guide emergency response activities. Emphasizing the importance of gender and inclusion, the commitment involves identifying diverse needs, capacities, and voices, ensuring inclusive consultation, integrating gender considerations into response policies and plans, and collecting disaggregated data. The HCT aims to enhance leadership and representation of women, girls, and excluded groups, apply gender markers in appeals and funding mechanisms, and prioritize protection from gender-based violence. Accessible information dissemination, psychosocial support, and strategies for women's economic empowerment are highlighted, with a focus on monitoring and evaluating responses with gender and inclusion responsiveness. The goal is to mobilize support for these principles within the Nepal Humanitarian Country Team to effectively address the gender impacts of emergencies, drawing from lessons learned in previous outbreaks and the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
