This document is a study report on climate change and disasters in Nawalparasi. Communities have witnessed changing weather patterns, with altered rainfall, rising temperatures, and increased incidents of winter fog, windstorms, hailstorms, landslides, floods, and droughts. These changes impact their livelihoods, and responses vary based on exposure and resilience. Summers are hotter with prolonged winter fog. Most striking is the erratic rainfall, intensifying in shorter bursts with longer gaps, leading to landslides and flash floods. Deforestation, overgrazing, and unplanned development exacerbate hazards. Drought, a growing problem, impacts crop cultivation year-round. Improved technology and socioeconomic changes enhance resilience, but increased temperatures affect mobility. Annual flash floods damage infrastructure and crops. Reduced hailstones contribute to drought.
