This study assesses disaster trends in Nepal from 1971 to 2016, focusing on earthquake, landslide, flood, and other hazards. It reports 26,665 disaster events resulting in 43,868 deaths and significant economic losses, particularly highlighted by the devastating 2015 Gorkha Earthquake. Fire, flood, and landslides are the most frequent disasters, impacting primarily the Terai and Hilly regions. Bagmati province records the highest disaster occurrence and human fatalities, followed by Koshi province, with other provinces showing comparatively lower disaster impacts. The study focuses on Nepal's vulnerability to multiple hazards which is sometimes worsened by its mountainous terrain and intense monsoon rains.
