The model is for formulation of the Disaster Preparedness and Response Plan (DPRP) for rural and urban municipalities in Nepal. With the help of this model, municipalities can develop comprehensive DPRPs tailored to their specific needs and contexts. The model includes detailed guidelines on the plan formulation process, assessing the current situation of disaster risk and management, and creating basic and preliminary preparedness plans. It emphasizes the importance of preparedness based on forecast systems and provides an emergency response guideline (plan). Additionally, it covers the availability and accounting of endowment materials, effective resource management, and fostering collaboration among various agencies. The model also includes sections on monitoring, evaluation, and learning to ensure continuous improvement, as well as strategies and planning for capacity building to enhance the overall disaster preparedness and response capabilities of municipalities.
