This document is a Policy Brief on “Decentralized Disaster Risk Management in Nepal: Ground-level Thinking”. The document outlines a review of the disaster-related policies. In an overview, although policy documents and their translation and implementation are available at the central level for local disaster risk management, there is often a lack of adherence to the law, policy translation, and the execution of policies and programs at the regional and local government levels. Furthermore, the document also highlights the inability of some municipalities to prepare DRRM plans and policies due to the lack of technical capacity.
