Summary

This is a guiding document for the extension of masonry buildings for the houses that have been built under Housing Reconstruction programme. This manual has been divided into two sections; horizontal and vertical extension that is expected to facilitate referencing with certain conceptual, technological and procedural elements that can be effective in country like ours with a weaker socio-economic condition. This document will be helpful in guiding the house technicians and concerned individuals for inspection, evaluation and correction of the extended rooms and storeys to propagate Earthquake resilient technology to all the 77 districts in Nepal.
