Summary

Natural and man-made hazards are formidable, yet not insurmountable. A world where vulnerabilities and exposure to hazards are minimized and communities are resilient is the vision of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015–2030 and the passion behind the work of the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR). The Work Programme 2024-2025 falls at a critical juncture. It presents UNDRR’s planned actions to achieve the objectives of its Strategic Framework 2022-2025 and is guided by the outcomes of the High-Level Meeting of the General Assembly on the Midterm Review of the Implementation of the Sendai Framework held in May 2023 in New York.
