Summary

This situation report provides an overview of the situation of the communities post-disaster and responses to WFP. WFP transitioned to the final phase of its earthquake emergency response in Nepal after successfully reaching 100 percent of planned recipients in phase two. This early recovery phase, lasting until December, aims to serve 409,000 people with food and cash support in exchange for work on community asset rehabilitation. The Nepal Food Security Monitoring System reported a significant reduction in immediate food assistance needs, attributing it to post-quake food aid and market access maintenance. WFP's protracted relief and recovery operation, starting in January 2016, will continue assisting earthquake-affected individuals. Remote Access Operations prepares for winter by committing to transporting over 1,000 mt of humanitarian cargo to isolated communities. WFP's earthquake response has received contributions from various donors, including private sector donors and multilateral donors like the European Union and UN CERF.
