DPNet-Nepal in coordination with Sphere Coordination Committee, Nepal
Announces the five days Sphere Handbook Training of Trainers
The effectiveness of any humanitarian response depends on its quality of services and accountability of action. Sphere, a movement that started in 1997 by a group of humanitarian professionals aiming to improve the quality of humanitarian work during disaster response, marked the 20th anniversary of Sphere Handbook. New guidance for working in urban settings, addressing minimum standards in protracted crisis and for delivering assistance through markets as a way to meet the standards have been included in the handbook. Humanitarian organizations have a significant role to improve the quality of services especially for the people at risk such as living with extreme poverty, social exclusions, gender constraints, and ignorance.
New edition of Sphere handbook- 2018 promotes an inclusive and integrated approach of humanitarian response. In early 2019, a new Sphere Training Package was released which includes five days’ worth of materials for in-person training workshops.
