Indo-Nepal Jal Sambad Samuha initiated
On 31st July 2019, DPNet Nepal has initiated an online 'Indo-Nepal Jal Sambad Samuha' on the commemoration of July 31st, 1950's 'Indo-Nepal Treaty of Peace and Friendship' to initiate a dialogue between NGOs of Nepal and India to build the common consensus on water-induced disaster and to boost up flood early warning system. This system was initiated in the presence of Principal Secretary of Disaster Management Division of Government of Bihar, P. N. Rai in Patna.
Mr. Raju Thapa, General Secretary of DPNet Nepal highlighted the need for such online dialogue group to develop common consensus among NGO activists of India and Nepal. Dr. Sanjeev Bhuchar, Senior Watershed Management Specialist of ICIMOD express his immense satisfaction on the spontaneous creation of the group and wishes for good luck.
All the NGOs activists participated in the program 'Koshi DRR Knowledge Hub Country Consultation' agreed to handover the responsibility to act as an admin of Jal Sambad Samuha to DPNet-Nepal.
