Rising Water Level in Koshi poses flood threat

With incessant rainfall in eastern hills in the past few days, water level in the Koshi River is rising, posing serious threat of flooding.
The water flow in Koshi Barrage yesterday evening was measured 136,000 cusecs, the highest in the year so far. Authorities have raised a red flag and opened 18 out of 55 sluices of the barrage. A red flag mean water flow is above 100,000 cusecs mark.
